Shochugeiko
Similar to kangeiko, shochugeiko is an additional six-day training session in the early morning. Shochugeiko means "mid-summer training". Besides the usual practice sessions, one hour is practised, quietly and intensively, before one's daily routine starts. Singing bowl meditation while sitting or lying precedes the practice session.
Early morning exercise has a special quality to it. One's body is more rested, one's mind more relaxed and the heart more open than at the end of the day. Often, the early sessions in the dojo attain a deep spiritual dimension.
