Gasshuku 2025/26
Gasshuku, 合宿
6 days in winter and 6 days in summer
Jigorō Kanō, the founder of judo, reintroduced these two forgotten traditions in 1895 and 97. Inspired by Kanō, kangeiko and shochugeiko have established themselves - beyond judo - as annual practice rituals in kendo, karate and aikido dojos worldwide.
In Kanō's time, they were aimed at young people, started at 3 a.m. and lasted three or four hours. Today, Kangeiko, like Shochugeiko, is aimed at adults and is intended to provide a dense and unifying practice experience. For one week, people all over the world practise their martial art - early in the morning every day.
Always the 4th and 30th week of the calendar:
| 20. — 25.01.2025 | Kangeiko |
| 21. — 26.07.2025 | Shochugeiko |
| 19. — 24.01.2026 | Kangeiko |
| 20. — 25.07.2026 | Shochugeiko |
